Analyst - Laboratory Information Services - Casual 2025-15600

Summary of Duties

• Provides LIS support to both internal and external users, reporting directly to the LIS Manager
• Supports projects to implement the objectives of the Precision Diagnostics and Therapeutics Program  
• Areas of Responsibility include supporting Sunquest Lab, LIS maintenance, creating validation protocols, software and hardware testing, data retrieval, documentation & developing operating policies and procedures, server support
• Develops staff training protocols
• Communicates and liaises with laboratory staff, Medical/Scientific staff, management, Information Service’s employees and external stakeholders
• Organizes and prioritizes workflow as required
• Adheres to laboratory quality management system
• Provides leadership through mentorship and sharing of knowledge
• Works collaboratively with staff within the Precision Diagnostics and Therapeutics Program 

Qualifications/Skills

• 3 years recent hospital laboratory experience in a Laboratory Information Services department, with current CMLTO registration required
• Sunquest Lab LIS experience required
• Effectively troubleshoot HL7 messages, specifically related to Microbiology transactions
• Database management (ie Crystal reports) required
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office (including MS Access)
• Demonstrates excellent problem solving skills
• Demonstrates excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to analyze and resolve integration issues between interfaces and applications
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to work with a diverse group of end users in a collaborative manner
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
