The Sunnybrook Department of Medicine Association is seeking a Medical Administrative Assistant for a 6-week full-time assignment. We are a large medical practice of over 150 doctors and 95+ medical administrative staff and we are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team to provide administrative support to physicians, their practices and clinics.  Experience in the Accuro EMR system is mandatory.   POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the clinical and administrative services associated with the operation of the physician practice/clinic. The assignment will be in the Endocrinology Division from May 1 – June 14, 2024.     RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include; but are not limited to: Responding to emails and processing faxes Answering the phone and returning voicemails Scheduling patient appointments and responding to inquiries Checking in patients for in-person clinics. Providing documentation support for letters and medical notes on our Accuro EMR system Registering new referrals in Quadramed and scheduling accordingly Managing electronic filing and chart organization.   ROLE REQUIREMENTS: College Diploma in a related discipline, or recognized equivalent, or a combination of education and experience is required. Demonstrated advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Minimum of 1 year’s experience in medical administrative assistant role. Hospital experience is preferred Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced clinic Proven knowledge of medical terminology Ability to use Accuro EMR Demonstrated ability to take initiative and act independently using sound judgment as well as accepting direction Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills and good team player skills Excellent time management skills; attention to detail; the capacity to prioritize by assessing situations to determine urgency Ability to work independently and balance multiple work demands, including time sensitive requests Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to and work well with a diverse group of individuals Tact and discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues Ability to maintain strict confidentiality   TO APPLY: If you are looking for an exciting opportunity and to build a career in an innovative and dynamic organization, submit your resume by clicking on Apply Now below.   We thank all applicants in advance.
