Job Description:
Location: Hybrid
The Technical Specialist in the Group Retirement Services (GRS) Digital Enrolment team will be responsible for the system set up of our Digital Enrolment capabilities and related services.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for supporting our internal partners on the implementations of our digital services and ensuring accurate system set up. You’ll also ensure ongoing maintenance of the client policy rules and plan design changes that affect Digital Services functionality.
You will be accountable for analyzing, investigating and resolving issues, creating test cases and executing business acceptance testing to ensure solutions deliver quality results. You’ll provide recommendations and help define the end state of the desired system change by working with business partners to ensure that IT development and implementations are meeting Client needs.
What will you do?
- Interpret client requests in the software system services (Business Rules Management System) and completing the authoring, validation and deployment steps necessary to update these services
- Respond to business partners queries on policy rules authored in the BRMS
- Accurately set up the system (Global, Global.com) based on requirements for our Digital Services (Enrol, Eligibility rules, Payroll rules and other services)
- Engage business partners and subject matter experts to identify and document business needs
- Work with business partners to ensure that IT development and implementations are meeting client needs
- Execute business acceptance testing including preparation of test plans, execution of test cases, documentation of results and filing of defects
- Create and/or participate in developing internal and external communications and user documentation
- Provide technical expertise as it relates to Digital Services and system set up
- Assist in analyzing and updating member data to ensure accuracy and completeness of data before Digital Services go live
What do you need to succeed?
- Process mapping and/or process improvement skills
- Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Excel data extraction, software testing and/or business systems analysis. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize a wide range of tasks over multiple projects while adapting to changing priorities, assessing and managing risks, and driving resolutions
- Ability to negotiate, consult, make decisions, solve problems and persuade
- As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada or worldwide.
Preferred skills
- Group Retirement Services experience is preferred
- Progressive experience as a Business Analyst or equivalent experience (knowledge of methodologies, tools and techniques for testing and developing business requirements), an asset
- Experience with coding or with technical platforms is preferred

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
