Job Description:

This is a Contract Position for 1 Year

We're seeking a dynamic Product Manager to lead the strategic development, launch, and management of our Dental Benefits and additional health products. In this role, you'll be instrumental in shaping the market through innovative strategies and by improving tools for plan sponsors, plan members, plan advisors and business development.

What will you do?

  • Develop and execute strategic plans and product roadmaps

  • Analyze market trends, the competitive landscape, and customer insights

  • Lead product customization and enhancement initiatives

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth product implementation

  • Deliver the product vision to plan sponsors and key stakeholders

  • Provide product training and support across the organization

  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners

Innovation & Product Delivery:

In this role, you'll be at the forefront of product innovation and delivery. Here's what you'll do:

  • Spot new opportunities: Look for ways to improve existing products or create new ones. You'll consider what clients need, what competitors are doing, and how the market is changing.

  • Shape product strategy: Help develop plans for our health benefits products. You'll suggest features and services that make our offerings more valuable to clients.

  • Lead lean product launches: guide the development of new products using a "minimum viable product" approach. This means creating a basic version that can be improved over time.

  • Analyze and improve: Keep an eye on how our products are performing and what clients are saying. Use this information to suggest ways to make our products even better.

  • Manage product initiatives: Take charge of product-related projects from start to finish. This includes planning, setting priorities, managing resources and stakeholders, solving problems, handling risks, communicating effectively, and tracking performance.

Your goal is to create and improve products that meet client needs and help the business grow.

Relationship & Supplier management

This role involves creating and maintaining good relationships both inside and outside the company to improve products and find new business opportunities.

  • Building Strong Internal Connections: work closely with colleagues inside the company and improve product strategies and business models together

  • Growing External Partnerships: connect with healthcare industry experts outside the company and find new opportunities and develop better business plans

  • Making Partnerships Official: help create formal agreements with external partners when needed and assist in writing contracts and checking important details

What do you need to succeed?

  • In depth knowledge of the Group Insurance market, including Extended Health Care and Dental products, with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Proven track record in product launch and management

  • Excellent communication skills, including strong presentation skills with the ability to influence

  • Solid understanding of financial dynamics in product management

  • Data analysis and management proficiency

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and adapt quickly

  • Team player with a collaborative and innovative mindset

  • Demonstrates accountability and leadership

  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for Quebec only as the position reports to a unilingual English-speaking manager outside Quebec.

Assets:

  • University degree, ideally in Health-related studies, Marketing or Business.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
