Job Description:

12 MONTH CONTRACT

The Distribution Training Consultant reports into the Senior Sales Development and Training Consultant and will be responsible planning, execution, and administrative support for all training related initiatives. The Distribution Training Consultant will also be the primary architect of the online learning platform for the Distribution team and ensure effective training materials creation across the team.

What will you do:

  • Assist in developing training programs for the Retail Distribution Team.

    • Create and assemble training material for all wealth onboarding programs, as well as playing a key role in the follow up/sustainment of the relevant learning components

    • Overseeing module creation and organization

    • Design and organize all training materials for development programs: Pitch books, wholesaler development program, Regional Team Meeting/National Sales Meetings, Coaching, Salesforce

    • Plan all training events and workshops

    • Track and report to the training and sales leadership teams for all key training initiatives such as development programs, prospecting, sales foundations, etc.

    • Work with the Distribution Leadership team to ensure all required tasks are being completed and implemented

  • Primary architect for Learning Management System (LMS), responsible for:

    • Creating, customizing, and organizing a user experience

    • Overseeing access and reporting

    • Creating, updating, and assigning courses, drills, and assessments

    • Ongoing cleanup of the platform

    • Overseeing the accuracy of scores and the reporting of assessments

    • Integration with other content management systems (i.e. Seismic)

    • Curation of content aligning with Training curriculum

  • Onboarding:

    • Overseeing the maintenance of onboarding decks

    • New hire tracking and ensuring access to training materials.

    • Basic onboarding training

  • Responsible for housing all training materials across various platforms such as within the LMS, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.

  • Creating, editing, and reviewing training videos and best practices from workshops, assessments, other submissions

  • Serve as a liaison between the training team and various business partners within Sun Life Financial and Sun Life Global Investments during the organization of training initiatives

  • Build and maintain relationships with the Retail Distribution Leadership Team to ensure continuous training support needs are being met and assisting in the build and refinement of their training priorities

  • Responsible for the training initiatives calendar and maintenance

  • The go to person for all training questions and directing to proper resources for assistance.

What do you need to succeed:

  • University Degree or equivalent

  • 4 years of training experience, preferably within the mutual fund industry

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (i.e. Excel, Word & Outlook)

  • Experience with online Learning Management System (LMS) (i.e. Allego, Seismic Learning, etc.)

  • Completion of IFIC and/or CSC

  • Knowledge of Mutual Fund industry

  • Previous experience in Sales and training

  • Experience working in a team environment

Preferred skills:

  • Customer and results focused: ability to work with various stakeholders to understand and act based on their needs, assess risks, and achieve a valued result

  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and manage competing demands

Assets:

  • Graphic Design experience

  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, SharePoint, OneDrive, Salesforce

  • Completion of IFIC and/or CSC

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
