At the heart of industrial equipment projects, the Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control Designer Technician participates in the development of electrical solutions, including the design of electrical panels and enclosures, and the production of technical documentation, in collaboration with the rest of the engineering team. The position is suited for someone meticulous and conscientious, who values teamwork and well-done work.

Daily routine :

Electrical design
  • Analyze needs, specifications, and technical requirements to understand functional and technical requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of electrical solutions and the design of electrical components of equipment.
  • Contribute to detailed design of electrical diagrams and layout of electrical panels and enclosures integrated into the equipment.
  • Participate in resolving technical problems related to electrical systems.
Quality and documentation of the design
  • Create drawings, diagrams, and electrical plans using the design tools used at STAS.
  • Produce and maintain the technical documentation required for manufacturing, assembly, and procurement.
  • Adhere to and apply internal methods, as well as applicable standards, laws, regulations, and design criteria.
Interdisciplinary collaboration and support
  • Generate the information required for the procurement of electrical components.
  • Ensure adequate communication with other departments regarding the progress of work under their responsibility.
  • Meet agreed deadlines for deliverables assigned.
  • Provide the technical support required for manufacturing and assembly to facilitate understanding and use of design deliverables.
  • Provide occasional technical support, especially during estimates and post-sales support.

Requested skills

You have :

  • DEC in electrical engineering automation and control or related field OR equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Mastery of AutoCAD software; AutoCAD Electrical is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
