Heavy Equipment Technician Instructor

Required for St. Paul Education

St. Paul Education requires a part-time (0.5 FTE) Heavy Equipment Technician Instructor commencing January 26, 2026 - June 26, 2026 (Semester 2). The position will involve working in the afternoons from Monday to Friday.

The position is based out of the Career and Technology Education Centre at New Myrnam School, Myrnam, Alberta. The successful candidate will be a Red Seal certified Heavy Equipment Technician that delivers first-year HET programming to select students in preparation for their first period AIT exam.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated person that demonstrates:

  • Interest in teaching and working with high school aged students and young adults
  • Strong interpersonal relationship and communication skills
  • A keen interest in working with and teaching youth
  • A passion about the field of heavy equipment mechanics, with an interest in serving as a positive mentor for students
  • Commitment to student growth and success
  • Ability to make learning interactive and engaging.

Required Qualifications:

  • Red Seal HET certification or Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate.

In doing so, St. Paul Education became the only school division in Alberta to operate both separate and public schools under one board.
