Educational Assistant

Required for Elk Point Outreach School

Elk Point Outreach School (EPOS) requires a part-time (0.5 FTE) Educational Assistant to commence immediately until June 24, 2026.

EPOS, located in Elk Point, AB, is a Grade 9-12 school with approximately 14 students.

The ideal candidate is a patient, compassionate, and student-centered professional who builds strong, supportive relationships particularly with students facing learning challenges or personal adversity. They demonstrate or are eager to develop a strong understanding of trauma-informed practices and bring a calm, empathetic approach to working with youth. Experience supporting at-risk students and a commitment to inclusive, safe, and engaging learning environments are strong assets. A collaborative mindset and flexibility in supporting students across subject areas are also essential.

About St. Paul Education

Geographically and demographically, St. Paul Education covers a large rural/urban area in Northeast Alberta. We serve the communities of St. Paul, Elk Point, Two Hills, Mallaig, Ashmont, Myrnam and Heinsburg. We also serve students from Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Whitefish Lake First Nation #128, Frog Lake First Nation and Kehewin Cree Nation.

In 1995, parent and community stakeholders initiated the amalgamation of five school boards into what is now St. Paul Education. In doing so, St. Paul Education became the only school division in Alberta to operate both separate and public schools under one board. The Division's religious, linguistic and cultural diversity is a source of strength and pride.

We serve 3640 students (K-12), including Catholic, First Nation, Mennonite, Hutterite and Home Schooling learners. Our 19 definable school sites are staffed by approximately 232 FTE teaching staff and 293 support staff.
