Cosmetology/CTS Teacher or Instructor

Required for Ashmont School

Ashmont School requires a 1.0 FTE Probationary/Continuous Cosmetology/CTS Teacher or Instructor commencing the 2025-2026 school year. The successful candidate must have their Journeyperson Hair Stylist Certificate.

The ideal candidate will have several years of hands-on experience as a Hairstylist, as well as formal training in cosmetology instruction. The instructor will be responsible for developing and teaching the 10, 20, and 30-level cosmetology curriculum as well as Grade 7 - 12 CTS options dependent on the skills and experience of the successful individual. Applicants possessing a bachelor's degree in education are preferred.

Ashmont School, located in Ashmont, Alberta, is a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school with approximately 475 students.

Geographically and demographically, St. Paul Education covers a large rural/urban area in Northeast Alberta. We serve the communities of St. Paul, Elk Point, Two Hills, Mallaig, Ashmont, Myrnam and Heinsburg. We also serve students from Saddle Lake Cree Nation, Whitefish Lake First Nation #128, Frog Lake First Nation and Kehewin Cree Nation.

In doing so, St. Paul Education became the only school division in Alberta to operate both separate and public schools under one board.
