As a machine safety engineer, you will be responsible for projects combining mechanics and occupational health and safety, from developing solutions to implementing the concepts you have created. Your role? Ensuring compliance, analyzing and mitigating risks, and ensuring the safety of our facilities' equipment. Whether through research, calculations, or advising teams, you will be at the heart of our innovations and our commitment to excellence.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to:
- Inventory OHS risks for machines and equipment
- Lead machine safety projects ranging from compliance analysis to equipment modification, including design approval and monitoring of deadlines and budgets
- Identify, assess, and weigh risks by applying and implementing a multidisciplinary analysis methodology and developing it with project teams
- Define and prioritize mitigation measures, then develop and lead the action plan to eliminate risks
- Monitor the compliance status of machines and equipment according to applicable standards (CSA, ISO, machine directives, etc.)
- Write compliance reports and make strategic recommendations
- Collaborate with various internal stakeholders to integrate safety into the design process
- Lead training and awareness sessions on OHS best practices

ProfileWith the following skills and qualities, you will be successful in this role:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Member in good standing of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
- Experience in a similar position, ideally in an industrial setting
- Experience and interest in machine risk analysis and occupational health and safety
- In-depth knowledge of machine safety standards and regulations
- Knowledge of SolidEdge or equivalent CAD software
