As part of the Emplois d’été Canada (EEC) program, join us for a rewarding 8‑week summer position from July to August within a caring, inclusive, and committed team. You will have the opportunity to work with individuals living with a neurocognitive disorder in a fully equipped activity centre designed to meet their specific needs. This meaningful experience will allow you to develop highly valued professional and interpersonal skills while making a tangible, positive impact on participants’ daily lives.
This position is ideal for candidates who are empathetic, energetic, and motivated to gain meaningful experience in the fields of support services, health, and community intervention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and facilitate activities for individuals living with a neurocognitive disorder, using a person‑centred care approach
  • Provide individual and group interventions within the activity centres
  • Assist participants with activities of daily living
  • Prepare regular reports on interventions and monitor participants’ progress
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss cases and collaborate with other therapeutic activity specialists

Requested skills

To be eligible for the Emplois d’été Canada (EEC) program, candidates must:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with the applicable provincial or territorial legislation

Required Qualifications:

  • Interest in the fields of activity facilitation, recreation and leisure intervention, therapeutic recreation, special education, gerontology, health, or social work,
    or a first experience working with individuals living with a neurocognitive disorder
  • Familiarity with neurocognitive disorders, Alzheimer’s disease, and a person‑centred care approach
  • Proficiency in English is considered an asset in order to provide verbal support to a non‑French‑speaking clientele, which represents approximately 40% of the organization’s clients
