Join the SimpleK development team and help shape a specialized software solution used to manage physical keys and complex master key systems. As a Software Developer / Programmer, you will use Microsoft technologies, including C#, Blazor, .NET, Entity Framework Core, and Microsoft SQL Server, to transform real-world customer needs into reliable, intuitive, and scalable web application features. Working closely with business stakeholders, developers, and end users throughout the software development lifecycle, you will bring your ideas, technical expertise, and commitment to quality while making a direct and visible contribution to the continued evolution of SimpleK.

Duties and ResponsibilitiesSoftware Design and Development
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain SimpleK web application features using C#, .NET, and Blazor Server.
  • Translate business and customer requirements into clear, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Develop responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces.
  • Build and maintain data-access components using Entity Framework Core and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and other application services.
Quality, Maintenance, and Delivery
  • Write clean, secure, testable, and well-documented code in accordance with team standards.
  • Participate in peer code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development practices.
  • Troubleshoot defects, analyze root causes, and deliver reliable fixes.
  • Use Git and Azure DevOps to manage source code, work items, builds, and releases.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for application components and development processes.
Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate with development, deployment, support, and product stakeholders throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Participate in solution design, estimation, planning, demonstrations, and retrospectives.
  • Stay current with relevant technologies and recommend practical improvements to SimpleK and the team’s development practices.

Requested skills

Qualifications
  • College or university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Professional experience developing and maintaining web applications; approximately three years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, Blazor Server, Entity Framework Core, Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, and Git.
  • Good understanding of web application architecture, RESTful APIs, object-oriented design, and common software design patterns.
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and work effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proficiency in English and French, both written and spoken.
  • Availability to travel occasionally within Canada and the United States, as required.
Assets
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated build and release processes.
  • Experience with unit, integration, or automated user-interface testing.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of application security, performance optimization, or database tuning.
  • Experience supporting enterprise or on-premises software products.
