Summer 2026 Hybrid PAF1O Teacher Position (Secondary)
Teacher - Secondary Credit Program
POSITION SUMMARY:
The
Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) is seeking qualified applicants for
the position of summer teacher.
Reporting
to the principal(s) of Summer School/Adult and Continuing Education, the teacher
will be responsible for the instructional delivery and daily student support
for the duration of the program. Teachers are responsible for record-keeping
and final reporting for their assigned course.
SCHEDULE FOR SUMMER SESSION:
· SCDSB July full-credit courses: July 2 - July
24, 2026;
· Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays Synchronous/On-Line
learning
· Tuesdays and Thursdays in-person learning at the
Barrie Learning Centre
TEACHER LOCATION:
· Synchronous (remote) - connected to Barrie
Learning Centre
· In-Person - at the Barrie Learning Centre
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
· Intermediate/Senior qualifications in subject
area
· Special Education qualification preferred
· Teaching and Learning Through eLearning AQ
preferred
· Preference given to Teaching 2SLGBTQ+ Students, AQ in
Inclusive Classrooms, or lived experience within the 2SLGBTQ+ community.

applicants for the summer teacher position will demonstrate evidence of:
· Ability to integrate technology in daily
practice
· Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of the 2SLGBTQ+ community
· Deep
understanding of learning pedagogy and how it relates to an online learning
environment
· Collaboration
and teamwork with colleagues
· Excellent
oral and written communication skills
· Thorough
knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, Growing Success, and Learning for All (A
guide to effective assessment and instruction for all students K - 12)
MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR TEACHERS:
Successful
applicants for the summer eLearning teacher position will be responsible for:
· Implementing effective student assessment
practices (e.g. descriptive feedback) within the virtual learning environment
· Delivering
full-credit course content through the virtual learning environment
· Enhancing
curriculum-based content to integrate differentiated instructional strategies
designed to improve student engagement and foster deeper learning
· Knowledge
of the board-appointed virtual learning environment (Brightspace by D2L)
All
teaching positions will be available subject to student enrolment.
