Sr. Mainframe Developer to work with Cobol to develop and implement solutions for a large insurance client - 5019

Duration: 1 year (possibility of extension)

Location: Remote

Must haves:

• 5+ years of experience as Mainframe Developer working with full application development life cycle and systems integration
• Experience using COBOL or PLI, and SAS development languages
• Excellent knowledge of the IBM OS/390 mainframe environment
• Experience with TSO/ISPF, DB2, IMS, JCL and other mainframe utilities
• Understanding of MQ Series and other middleware technologies
• Insurance and Wealth Investments Financial Service industries experience

Nice to haves:

• Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, and Jenkins
• Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban

Job Responsibilities:

• The candidate will be expected to manage/coordinate offshore resources and be able to pivot / adjust dev resourcing once the solution road map is well established
• Deliver the analysis, design, development, and implementation of solutions
• Utilize their technical knowledge to lead technical discussions with stakeholders and external technical partners in a manner that ensures understanding of risks, options, and overall solutions
• Continuously strives to improve the client experience, our team, and our processes
• Keep current with trends in emerging technologies and how they could be applied

Note: Occasional weekend or evening may be required.
