Our valued Public sector client is in need of a Senior Project Manager to manage the end-to-end system development lifecycle (SDLC) for the development/ enhancement of web-based, n-tier applications.

We are looking for someone with the following, but not limited to, experience:
  • Post-secondary education and a valid PMP
  • Three projects managing system implementation spanning multiple geographic locations and/or multiple stakeholders in different divisions/sectors of the client organization
  • Three projects managing the system development and implementation utilizing Agile / Scrum practices
  • Utilizing the Government of Canada Project Complexity and Risk Assessment (PCRA) or an equivalent Project Risk Assessment tool in the management of an IT project
  • Three projects developing the Business Case or other decision / approval documents for a Government of Canada department of agency
The following represents (but is not limited to) the typical tasks for the role:
  • Providing project planning and management guidance and advice to Management and staff
  • Meeting with organizational stakeholders to identify business objectives and high level requirements as required to develop project charters and business cases
  • Perform cost/benefit and impact analyses of proposed projects, including implementation plans.
  • Project Management and oversight of a web-based n-tier Application Development or Application Enhancement project
  • Developing and delivering presentations to Senior Management
  • Developing project plans including: project objectives; budget estimates; project team composition, roles and responsibilities; and terms of reference
  • Continuously manage risk throughout the life of an application development project.
  • Using Microsoft Project to schedule and track project activities
  • Report status and progress (deliverables, schedule, issues and budget) of projects on an ongoing basis and at scheduled points in the life cycle, and at any point when events affect the schedule/progress of the work
  • Track project Change Requests
  • Obtain project Sign-Off
  • Conduct project Closeout Activities, including post mortems, development of lessons learned
  • Ensure that all project processes are documented and that project documents are appropriately archived
