Driving School Instructor

This mandate is part of a larger initiative aimed at serving over 500 candidates per session across the three communities.

• Initial duration: 12 months

• Renewals: Possibility of two (2) additional 12-month renewals (maximum contract duration: 3 years)

• Probation period: 3 months

• Flexible options: Initial 6-month contracts available

• Work schedule: 35 hours per week (flexible schedule, evening and weekend work possible depending on demand)

• Work locations: Northern Quebec

• Number of sessions: 2 sessions planned for 2025; up to 3 if the contract is renewed

• Teach road safety rules and safe driving practices

• Prepare candidates for the SAAQ Class 5 practical exam, including simulator-based training

• Adapt teaching methods to match the needs and profiles of learners

• Produce weekly, monthly, and biannual reports using Excel

• Use the Quebec Driving Schools Association (AECQ) platform for tracking student progress

• Communicate confidentially with the SAAQ and government agencies when required

• Perform basic administrative tasks (calls, scheduling, updating student records)

• Provide all required documentation to SERESPRO in a timely manner

• Support recruitment efforts for potential future instructors

• Participate in meetings with partners when requested by SERESPRO

Only candidates who meet all of the following criteria will be considered. No exceptions will be made.

• Valid SAAQ certification (Class 5) with instructor number

• Minimum 3 years of experience teaching driver education

• Practical experience using driving simulators

• Bilingualism required: French and English

• Strong teaching and interpersonal skills

• Intermediate proficiency in the following tools: Excel, Outlook, Teams, Adobe, AECQ platform

• Good physical condition and ability to work in a northern environment (e.g., extreme weather, remote locations)

• Demonstrated interest in working with Northern Quebec communities and adapting to local culture

• Ability to work independently with professionalism, patience, ethics, and teamwork

• Travel and accommodations (instructor is responsible for planning logistics)

• Cargo allowance: 60 kg of personal belongings and 485 kg of food per instructor, per year

• Internet fees

• Cargo overage charges

• Personal insurance (mandatory – SERESPRO does not cover incidents on or off duty)

• The service provider is responsible for ensuring instructors meet all contract obligations

• Criminal background checks must be submitted for each instructor prior to contract start
