Chief Atahm School is looking a temporary teacher for the grade 7/8 classroom for April, May and June, 2024.

Chief Atahm School is seeking a full time High School Teacher. We are seeking a creative individual with experience in planning, teaching and evaluating grade 7/8 courses. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in the new BC curriculum, inquire method and graduation requirements.

Adams Lake Indian Band is home to the Chief Atahm School, founded in 1991. The school is located in south central British Columbia, near the town of Chase and 57 km east of Kamloops.

Chief Atahm School continues to be a parent-operated school where staff, parents and elders work together to offer the best program possible that adheres to our school’s vision, philosophy and principles.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative educator, with outstanding interpersonal skills and a history of promoting parent and community involvement. The Middle School Teacher will be expected to taking an active role in school sponsored extra-curricular activities.

Qualification and experience

Bachelor of Education degree, or in the process of attaining a teaching certificate

Must be in good standing with the BC Teacher Regulation Branch of the Ministry of Education

Must be able to obtain and maintain a clear Criminal Records Check

Understanding of Secwepemc language, values, history and culture is an asset
