Rocky Mountain School District is searching for a continuing, full-time (1.0 FTE) Principal at Edgewater Elementary School. This educational leadership role is effective August 1, 2026.
Edgewater Elementary School is situated on the unceded and shared lands of the Secwépemc and Ktunaxa People, located in Edgewater, British Columbia. Our school community includes almost 20 dedicated staff members serving approximately 150 students from Grades K to 7.
We are proud to offer students a rich variety of learning and extracurricular opportunities, including interschool athletics, lunchtime and afterschool clubs, Secwépemcstin language classes, and many outdoor pursuits. As a rural K-7 school Edgewater prides itself on being visible and involved in the community. Edgewater Elementary is committed to providing a safe place for students to be creative, to aspire to reach their potential, to appreciate individual differences, and to become lifelong learners and caring citizens.

We welcome applications from candidates with strong teaching and leadership experience, as well as familiarity with the First Peoples' Principles of Learning, the BC Curricula, and Learning Pathways. The district is seeking an assessment literate, service-oriented leader who embraces a student-centered leadership approach. A master's degree in administration, leadership, curriculum, or a related field should be completed or currently underway. The successful applicant must hold, or be eligible to hold, a BC Teaching Certificate issued by the Teacher Regulation Branch.
