ELEMENTARY COUNSELLOR
Part-time (0.7 FTE) Term position
Multiple Elementary School Locations*
Effective September 2, 2025 until June 30, 2026
The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.
Required Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following:
- A completed Masters level degree in Counselling Psychology, School Counselling, or equivalent
- A current and valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate
- Demonstrated recent experience as an elementary counsellor
- Knowledge of the Response to Intervention Framework
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge with writing and implementing behavioral plans and IEP's
- Ability to work with teachers in a variety of settings
- A commitment to and successful experience working collaboratively in team settings
- Demonstrated ability and knowledge in working with community agencies and health care professionals to co-ordinate services
- Behaviour intervention training and/or experience with functional behaviour assessment would be an asset for the successful candidate
* This District counselling position will be assigned to elementary schools and will be discussed in the interview; however, counselling positions are district based positions and the location may be changed subject to operational and student needs.
