INTERMEDIATE TEACHER
Part-time (0.2 FTE) Term position
Caulfeild iDEC Elementary School
Effective April 14th, 2026, OR earlier until June 30, 2026
The annual salary for a full-time teaching position ranges from $59,711 to $109,520, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. The salary will be prorated based on FTE.

Required Qualifications and Experience:
This position replaces a teacher on leave. The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:
• Current knowledge and recent successful experience and training at the intermediate levels.
• A clear understanding of the components of professional practice including planning and preparation, classroom environment, instruction, and professional responsibilities.
• An ability to use a variety of digital tools to develop learning (ex. Google Classroom).
• Willingness to teach in a non-traditional learning space where micro-environments as well as student choice and flexibility are valued.
• Experience and confidence with trans-disciplinary and concept-based learning.
• Commitment to working with colleagues to develop a Program of Inquiry over the course of the school year.
• Commitment to a collaborative model of teaching and weekly collaboration sessions focused on the development of student learning within units of inquiry.
• Demonstrated experience emphasizing the learning process through formative assessment strategies.
• Experience differentiating instruction to the meet the learning needs of all students at all levels.
• A clear understanding and proven ability to create a positive learning environment that utilizes self-regulation strategies to address the intellectual, physical and emotional needs of the age group.
• Demonstrated ability to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners, including ELL students.
• Excellent communication skills working with students, staff and parents to ensure continuity for student learning by regularly communicating and collaborating;
• Demonstrated commitment to fostering a thriving school community;
• Effective classroom management skills that are student centered and focus on relationships and authentic connections with knowledge of restorative practices;
