Worksite: Little Mountain Elementary School

Contract Type: Temporary, Part-Time (40% - Mondays and Tuesdays)

Assignment Area(s): Music Preparation Teacher

Effective Date: February 2, 2026, until not later than June 30, 2026

Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:

  • extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment
  • knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
  • qualifications, training, and successful experience in teaching elementary music (choral and instruments) using the Fine Arts curriculum
  • successful experience in teaching the various components of the Fine Arts curriculum
  • knowledge of methods for selecting, modifying, and adapting music and fine arts materials to meet the needs of diverse groups of students K - Grade 5
  • demonstrated ability to effectively instruct music to a wide range of ages and ability levels from Grades K-5 including rhythm instruments, choral, drama
  • demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues
  • demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate and manage a preparation time schedule that requires excellent classroom management, flexibility, organizational skills, and communication skills
  • demonstrated ability to effectively address a wide range of academic social, emotional, and behavioural needs of children
  • commitment to the “inclusion” of students with special needs and supporting education assistants in a Music and Fine Arts Programs
  • ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with students, staff, and parents
  • willingness to be a team member and supportive of our school goals
