Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)
Effective Date: immediately, until not later than January 23, 2026

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
- Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
- Academic training with an English degree preferred
- Successful teaching experience in English, Social Studies & Creative Writing courses at the secondary level
- Successful experience teaching with the use of a learning management system such as Moodle for teaching English courses
- Successful experience indigenizing English curriculum
- Demonstrated commitment to working collaboratively as an English department
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of curriculum re-design and the implications for English and Communication courses
- Knowledgeable about, and committed to balanced assessment practices in English
- Demonstrated use of highly successful instructional strategies in the classroom
- Demonstrated commitment to the use of results to improve the teaching/learning process
- Demonstrated high energy and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to use technology to leverage student learning and to communicate consistently and effectively with parents
- Demonstrated excellent classroom management behaviour management and classroom organization skills
- Demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for working and developing positive relationships with adolescents
- Commitment to working with parents as partners in student success
- Demonstrated capabilities in working effectively and collaboratively as a member of a staff team
- Demonstrated ability and knowledge of strategies necessary to motivate young adults to achieve at a high level
- Proven ability to inspire confidence and self-worth in adolescents
