Contract Type: Special Project Assignment - Monday (5-1/2 Hours) 3:00 - 7:00 pm (In Class) & 8:30 - 10:00 pm (Online); Tuesday (5-1/2 Hours) 3:00 - 7:00 pm (In Class) & 8:30 - 10:00 pm (Online); and Wednesday (3-1/2 Hours) 5:00 - 8:30 pm (Online)

Assignment Area(s): Adult Business Certificate (5 courses including: English Language Arts, Accounting, Marketing, Data Management & Business Info Management)

Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)

Effective Date: Immediately, until not later than June 30, 2026

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:

Please Note - Continuing Education programs are contingent upon student enrolment. If there are insufficient class numbers for this assignment, the course will be cancelled, and the teaching contract will be rescinded. Teachers will be paid in accordance with the Collective Agreement (Article B. 29). By accepting this assignment teachers do not receive teaching experience or earn seniority or aggregate months of service towards conversions to a continuing contract. (B status)

  • extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment
  • knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment
  • experience in developing & delivering online courses specific to business education
  • educational and practical experience with business documents and ability to fully integrate Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word documents together
  • certified to deliver Microsoft Office Specialist exams
  • experience Integrating the role of First People's perspectives, values, beliefs, and points of view in a business environment
  • experience creating marketing documents such as business plans, applications, real estate documents etc.
  • experience interpreting accounting financial statements and preparing notes to shareholders and other information
  • ability to incorporate organizational behavior theory into workplace communication
  • create assignments which transform ideas and information into original texts in the area of business
  • integrate business ethics in the curriculum
  • ability to incorporate the history and evolution of business theory into creative works
  • demonstrated ability and experience teaching Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access
  • demonstrated ability and experience teaching all aspects of Sage Simply Accounting Software
  • demonstrated skills and abilities to use a variety of teaching and assessment strategies to engage learners of different ages
  • proven ability to adapt course content to meet the needs of all learners during extended instructional times
  • proven ability to manage ministry and school requirements for a continuing education program including issuing/collecting course materials, tracking, and reporting attendance and student progress
  • demonstrated strong classroom management skills in a secondary and/or adult teaching environment
  • demonstrated skill and experience working in a collaborative manner with administration, other educators, and outside agencies
  • proven ability to work with all learners including at-risk, alternate students and mature students
