Salary Range: $59,711 to $109,520 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement)
Effective Date: September 1, 2025, until no later than June 30, 2026

Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:
- Extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment.
- Knowledge of, and demonstrated application of, the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement teaching practices that align with the Professional Standards for BC Educators.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of effective strategies to support the development of literacy skills; preference will be given to individuals possessing knowledge, training and experience in Balanced Literacy, Daily 5, Guided Reading, SMART Learning and/or Reading Power and Literacy Circles
- Training and experience in Jump Math and SNAP to support a balanced Numeracy approach, use of real-world applications and hands-on activities to support learning
- Knowledge of and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Education's current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment
- Successful experience teaching K to 5
- Ability to design and implement a variety of formative and summative assessment practices in Physical Education in order to measure and monitor student progress effectively
- Strong commitment to excellence in teaching and demonstrated successful experience in teaching all components of a well-rounded, balanced and effective Physical Education program at the elementary level including Dance, Gymnastics, and Outdoor Pursuits
- Demonstrated ability to use a variety of formative and summative assessments to plan for instruction and to differentiate instruction for individual student success
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in addressing the wide range of academic, social, emotional and behavioural needs of children
- Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to utilize proactive classroom management strategies in order to promote a positive and effective classroom learning environment and throughout the school, supporting PBS and school wide initiatives in supporting student behavior and self-regulation skills
- Demonstrated ability in enhancing student engagement through a variety of lesson designs including integration of technology as a teaching/learning instructional tool in the intermediate classroom
- Demonstrated willingness to work collaboratively as part of an Intermediate Team in implementation of curriculum and Response to Intervention school-wide systems
- Demonstrated ability in the application of current brain-based strategies as they relate to learning, self-regulation and mindful behaviour
- Commitment to supporting PBS and school-wide initiatives (i.e. Student Leadership, Restorative Practices)
- Demonstrated commitment to working with students, staff, parents and administration in an open, accepting manner in order to promote a strong and caring professional learning community
- A current First-Aid and CPR certificate would be an asset
