POSITION: Junior School Teacher - temporary
ASSIGNMENT: French as a Second Language, Mathematics - General, Physical Education (Gr 8-9). This temporary position includes the following teaching assignments: Daily Advisory class, FSL grade 9, Math 8/9, PE 8/9 and Math support.
FTE: 1.0
LOCATION: Quesnel Junior School
EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2025 until June 20., 2026, or earlier depending on the return of the incumbent
Basic Qualification: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:
Training Specialization:
- Secondary Education with a major/minor in French as a Second Language
- Secondary Education with major/minor in Mathematics
Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience teaching at the junior school level
A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.
Additional Qualifications:
- Two or more courses at the 100 or 200 level in French
- Fluency in French/English - oral and written - applicant must be willing to take a language proficiency test - or and written
- Two or more courses at the 100 or 200 level in Mathematics
Other:
- Commitment to the house-based team structure
- Fluent in English and French Speaker
- A portion of the interview may be conducted in French
The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61,175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
