As Operations Manager, you will play an essential role in the dynamic operations of a Direct Delivery Center (Lumber Yard for Pro customers), ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of products to meet our customers' expectations. You will be responsible for optimizing resources and responding with agility to variations in demand, aiming to exceed performance targets. With strong leadership, you’ll address daily challenges, communicate strategic priorities, and actively contribute to our mission's success.
Your role:Continuously monitor workload and inventory movements to ensure alignment with demand
Use planning to adjust staffing requirements in line with volume fluctuations
Communicate with management on goals, safety and operational priorities
Consistently meet or exceed targets for performance, safety, and budget compliance
Accelerate priority shipping and receiving operations
Foster a culture of safety by identifying and adressing issues for resolution and ensuring supervisors adhere to key behaviors and expectations
Mentor supervisors to develop skills and improve performance, while contributing to succession planning and monitoring key performance indicators
Optimize resources by managing labor budgets and identifying process improvements to increase efficiency
Cross-train teams and ensure regular equipment maintenance to guarantee optimal operation
Any combinations of education and experience managing a lumber yard and drivers will be considered
Leadership to build successful teams and establish trusting relationships
Excellent communication skills at all levels
Ability to make quick, well-informed decisions in dynamic conditions, with strong analytical skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) will be considered an asset
Strong prioritization, time management skills, and a commitment to safety
