Position is REMOTE : The selected candidate must reside within 250 km of our BOUCHERVILLE (Qc) office.

Your Role

Under the direction of the Service Manager - Telecommunications and Telephony, the network systems administrator is responsible for managing and evolving the network and telecommunications systems at Rona.

More Specifically, Your Role Includes:

  • Working with enterprise architects

  • Designing detailed solutions based on the plans established by architecture and on the required functional criteria

  • Defining test plans, performing lab tests, and presenting results

  • Writing documentation about the solution and its integration with systems

  • Establishing deployment strategies (new equipment and new versions)

  • Supporting the technical team with the deployment of new solutions and day‑to‑day operations

  • Placing and following up on service calls with vendors

  • Ensuring the evolution of the telecom environment by integrating technological developments from vendors

  • Documenting solutions while respecting the Incident Management process

  • Feeding and maintaining the knowledge base (documentation and procedures)

  • Training the support team on the optimal use of telecommunications applications and services

  • Being available to work outside normal hours and take part in an on‑call rotation with the team (as needed)

Requirements:

  • College, university, or equivalent education in IT

  • 5 to 8 years of proven experience in managing and deploying national WAN networks based on SD‑WAN / Fortinet firewalls

  • 5 to 8 years of proven experience with network equipment such as Nexus switches and routers

  • 5 to 8 years of experience with Cisco and Fortinet firewalls (operations side)

  • Experience with automation through scripting (such as Python) or deployment tools

  • Experience with ITIL processes (change requests, tickets, etc.)

  • Experience with cloud providers is an asset

  • Cisco certifications, ACI knowledge is an asset

  • Strong problem‑solving skills

  • Organized and structured; service‑oriented with attention to quality

  • Able to work under pressure

  • Comfortable working in a team

  • Ability to simplify and communicate technical knowledge

  • Self‑taught / proactive

  • Able to manage change

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
