Reporting to the Category Director, the Associate Category Manager is responsible for managing the strategic portfolio of the product category, including negotiating with suppliers. They will act as a product specialist for the categories under their responsibility and will be responsible for supporting business units in order to achieve shared company objectives.
Your role :

Manage the strategy for the assigned region across categories, including supplier selection, negotiation of commercial agreements, product selection, and management of costs and discount volumes.

Develop the product offering for the assigned region with regional plant suppliers.

Validate product quality in person at both suppliers' locations and stores.

Monitor the competition in the assigned region on a regular basis, as suppliers offer different products depending on the region; these products are not available on websites.

Serve as the central point of contact with Rona stores in the assigned region to ensure operational support tailored to the region's realities (40% of time during the spring).

Validate quantities per store for each supplier with the suppliers and through supply chain analysis; act as the expert for stores in the given region.
The qualifications we are looking for :

University degree (preferably in administration) and 5 to 10 years of experience in a similar position

Knowledge of the industry ( Lawn & Garden )

Good knowledge of technological tools (e.g., Excel and Word)

Basic knowledge of accounting

Salary Range: 70K-94K
