Our expectations

This position develops the presentation of the merchandise strategy in all Rona banners across the network using JDA /Intactix management software. This position supports stores and merchandising team by creating and publishing complete sets of accurate planograms in accordance with countdown schedules and providing efforts on planogram update on a timely basis based upon the decisions of the team(s).

Your role

  • Acts as a source of information and primary contact for all product space allocations in corporate store’s network.
    • Includes any space issues coming from merchandising, store operations, vendors, and service groups.
    • Also includes information pertaining to displays, signage, graphics and special instructions.
  • In conjunction with Product Line Reviews (but not limited to) conducts annual review of all valid planograms to assure their financial viability and adherence to image presentation
  • Develops planograms taking into consideration such factors as space utilization, rate of sale, optimal inventory levels, ease of customer shopping, and published product presentation guidelines.
  • Maintains current planograms for all corporate stores, all banners.
  • Act as support for Merchandisers in testing layouts (virtual or in planogram facility)

  • Works to gain product knowledge to assist in planning and reviewing sets.

  • Aids the merchandiser with line reviews; compares new product to current.

  • Validate Precheck information to define store specific equipment requirement.

  • Post and maintain Planograms to the proper channel by banner (Zone Rona and My Lowes Life).

  • Works to ensure that planograms are formatted consistently.

  • Plans/researches how changes in sets will affect stores and the number of stores affected.

  • Conduct planogram update flow to the merch ops team for store communication.

  • Maintains Planogram Data files. (used to support all new and Remer Lowes Stores with complete POG books)

  • Make sure stores have the needed information to construct displays: Proper racks, tools, etc.

  • Ensures that fixture vendors are aware of planogram changes.

  • Travel to stores, Planogram Facility and Vendor Facilities for meetings and test sets to “see” how the

    proposed set looks when completed.

  • Must be able to work on special projects that examine changes in all stores or types of sets, and evaluate

    the nature and reaction of the changes

  • Act as a partner and collaborator for merchandising team to have the right strategy in place.

  • Act as a mentor for new Planogram Specialist

  • Accountable for how products are presented in stores

  • Responsible for learning different RONA's banners systems and Planogram Software.

  • To design planograms that are safe, shoppable and return the maximum ROI with a minimal initial set time

    and minimal restocking time that meet all Rona’s standards.

  • Indirectly responsible for turns, ROI, and other sales related metrics.

The qualifications we are looking for

  • Must have a college or University degree or have equivalent work experience
  • 2 years retail store experience with an emphasis on merchandising.
  • Must be very detail oriented with good project management skills.
  • Must have good communication skills and able to support multiple teams.
  • Must be able to work in a changing environment
  • Computer literacy; proficient in retail space management software.
  • Ability to interface effectively with management at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent time management/organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple task simultaneously.
