This full-time temporary position is with an Equal Opportunity Employer and offers a wide range of assignments. The Board operates 2 administration buildings and 21 schools (18 elementary, 2 secondary) in 13 communities covering 7851 square kilometers for the welfare of 4,580 pupils. JOB SUMMARY:

The mandate of the Campus Youth Worker is to provide supervision and promote student safety. The Campus Youth Worker will be working in an environment involving students in Grades 7 to 12. Under the direction and supervision of the Principal and Vice-Principal, the primary responsibilities of the Campus Youth Worker will include:

  • Circulating on the campus, both internally and externally;
  • Monitoring student behaviour and attendance, to communicate and to report as necessary to school authorities;
  • Assisting in the maintenance and enhancement of a safe school environment;
  • Other related duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 year Community College Diploma in the field of Youth Worker, Certificate in Developmental Services Worker Program, Behaviour Management Technology or related education and experience;
  • Experience working with adolescents;
  • Superior inter-personal skills important for school based activities;
  • self-directed, critical thinking team player with excellent organizational skills;
  • a composed, discreet and profession manner, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines with minimal direction;
