The Specialist, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) will support the implementation of Reliance’s sustainability vision by championing innovative solutions in managing ESG strategy, developing and monitoring advanced reporting, disclosures and analysis as it relates to ESG. Reliance’s ESG strategy includes initiatives focused on greenhouse gas emissions, solutions in carbon footprint, and developing Reliance’s perspective on the transition to the low carbon economy along with setting clear aspirations, targets and measurement for Social and Governance areas. This is a high priority initiative project for Reliance, with engagement from senior levels across the Company. What will you do? Learn and grow as an important part of a team that cares about Reliance and its customers. Support and oversee the development and implementation of Reliance’s ESG strategy and policy Work across Reliance’s business lines to ensure not only ESG policy and initiative adoption and implementation Work with functional and business leaders to identify, develop and implement opportunities to engage stakeholders in sustainability efforts Own the identification of emerging sustainability trends by considering industry best practices, investor expectations and other stakeholder requirements Build and maintain a central repository for sustainability content, research, policies, ESG metrics and action plans Lead the development and alignment of ESG critical metrics that will be tracked; and engage with businesses across Reliance to measure and report on these metrics Create and publish sustainability reports that highlight Reliance’s progress and performance against approved sustainability goals and commitments Develop content for use in internal and external communications, presentations and documentation Manage Reliance’s ESG communications (including website) What do we offer? A growth mindset: above all else, we’re looking for people who are dependable, ambitious and want to grow with Reliance Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Sustainability, Environmental Sciences or other relevant programs and equivalent work experience Minimum 2-4 years of professional experience in sustainability (or similar area) in the energy/ utility sector or at a publicly listed company Experience in ESG reporting and an understanding of the various standards of ESG disclosure (GRI, IIRC, SASB, etc.) is key Experience in assessing climate change related risks and opportunities Ability to work effectively with a broad range of stakeholders with an ability to inspire trust and achieve results by working with others. Strong negotiation skills; ability to impact and influence Able to thrive in fast moving and ambiguous environments Extremely organized and great attention to detail to ensure accuracy in project management Strong communication skills, verbal and in writing, and ability to translate complex messages and recommendations into concise reports and presentations Fluent in Microsoft applications Why Reliance?Reliance is the industry leader in providing home comfort solutions and we do just that in over 2 million customer homes across North America.
