What will you do?

 

Reporting to the Project Delivery Leader, the Project Analyst will play a key role in the evolution of the Project Delivery Unit (PDU) as we continue to drive best project practices and seek to improve the effectiveness and accountability of managing a growing project portfolio of cross-functional projects and key strategic initiatives across the organization. Our team of project managers and analysts works cohesively to define, govern, execute and measure projects that drive growth, operational effectiveness, stability and best-in-class customer experience throughout the company. Supporting multiple business units, PDU ensures that projects are delivered on time, on budget and with exceptional quality. 

 

People Management:

  • Coordination of shared resources within the PDU
  • Manage cross-functional resources including dedicated and/or part-time team members, contractors, consultants and/or vendors

 

Portfolio Management:

  • Monitor and report on project portfolio status and individual initiative progress and provide suggestions for correction and/or improvement
  • Drive projects through the applicable approval processes with the functional business unit(s), finance and leadership teams
  • Develop and/or report on KPI success measurements on in-flight and post-launch projects to validate benefit realization
  • Provide and facilitate governance and oversight to projects led by other business partners including education and/or assistance in creating key project artefacts and reports to provide consistent visibility to senior leadership
  • Support creation, maintenance and execution of comprehensive project plans, schedules and budgets to ensure projects are delivered on approved budgets, timelines and scope
  • Analyze process and tool integration for continuous improvement
  • Synthesize complex ideas and data into actionable insights
  • Balancing multiple projects with competing priorities
  • Successfully meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Producing high quality deliverables to drive consistent results

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build relationships with business partners to understand their business project needs and translate into tailored action plans including education, governance and support
  • Work with business and finance teams to review cost benefit analysis for solution concepts to support development of business cases that outline recommended solutions and delivery plans.
  • Partnering with colleagues to manage successful client outcomes
  • Contributing to reaching organizational goals by being flexible and collaborative

 

Operations

  • Support weekly, monthly and quarterly portfolio reporting to senior management
  • Support annual and/or semi-annual budgeting process
  • Preparing presentations for key stakeholders in partnership with your team
  • Provide ongoing risk management, issue resolution and pipeline planning

 

What do you bring?

 

  • Post-secondary degree in Business Management, Project Management, Engineering or equivalent work experience, with a focus on operational effectiveness and process efficiency.
  • PMI Project Designation, preferably PMP, PgMP, or PMOCP
  • Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience working in a Project Management Office, Project Delivery Group or similar Project Management role or organization
  • Minimum 2 years + management or leadership experience
  • Strong work ethic and get-it-done-right mentality
  • Concrete organizational skills and excellent time management with the ability to triage and prioritize your actions
  • Ability to lead teams of strong personalities from varying disciplines.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrated experience with, project management disciplines, processes and artefacts, including project plans, charter and scope documents, resource plans, business case studies,
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, with demonstrated expertise in interacting effectively with many levels of project stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience leading workshops, assembling and conducting formal presentations, and facilitating consensus building and problem solving.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills
  • Command of MS Office, especially MS Project, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Candidate can work independently and/or in teams of varying size as required for various work assignments
  • Candidate is flexible for regular short term and periodic longer-term travel to Reliance offices, branches and/or business partners across Canada and US.
  • Candidate is flexible to work hours required to meet the needs of the business during project deployments and/or periodic key times to support reporting and planning

 

Nice to Have(s):

  • Experience in working with outsourced development teams, vendors and implementers.
  • Experience working with MS Project Enterprise and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience integrating new project management software and/or tools.
  • Change Management education and/or certification would be an advantage.
  • Proven experience in business analysis, preferably in a customer service business.
  • Six Sigma certification would be beneficial but not required.
