What will you do?
- Demand Planning & Forecasting:
- Lead Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes, including demand forecasting and cross‑functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.
- Partner with vendors and Reliance Regional Operations Managers to translate demand forecasts into actionable purchasing and inventory plans.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and drive continuous improvement in demand planning models and methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with Supply Chain and Operations to proactively manage and balance inventory levels, minimizing stockouts, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
- Purchasing & Replenishment:
- Develop and execute purchasing and inventory management policies and strategies aligned with company objectives, budget, and demand forecasts.
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize a parts replenishment model for service parts used across service and installation truck fleets.
- Drive inventory management and replenishment initiatives across the end‑to‑end Reliance Procure‑to‑Pay process
- Analyze inventory performance and key metrics (weeks on hand, service levels, aging inventory).
- Support new product introductions and phase-outs from a demand and inventory perspective.
- Leadership & Collaboration:
- Lead, coach, and develop purchasing and Supply Chain analysis team members.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Sales, Operations, Finance, and Supply chain
- Prepare and present reports, insights, and recommendations to leadership.
What do you bring?
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 5–8 years of experience in purchasing, demand planning, or supply chain management.
- Proven experience in people leadership or team supervision.
- Strong, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic thinking and business acumen.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management.
- Data-driven decision-making.
- Change management and adaptability.
- Attention to detail with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and planning tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards).
- Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Professional certification (CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience in Plumbing and HVAC industry preferred.
