We're Hiring a Part-Time School Bus Attendant.

Responsibilities
As a Complex Learner School Bus Attendant, you’ll be part of a team that provides support for students living with disabilities to get to and from school safely with the utmost care. You’ll be the friendly and familiar face that marks the beginning and end of each child’s school day.
1 position located at St. Lorenzo Ruiz School
1 postition located at St. Teresa of Avila School
Responsibilities include:

Reinforces positive behaviour and the safety of students while riding specialized buses.

Ensures students safely get onto and off of the bus - to and from destinations.

Ensures that safety and harnessing equipment is in place before departure.

Assists students in disengaging the safety and harnessing equipment before leaving the bus.

Attends to the needs of students, particularly those who are experiencing any struggles.

Works as part of a team with the driver to assist with urgent and emergency bus evacuation procedures.

May fill out incident report forms, and document injuries of students or others while riding on the bus.

Build rapport with both students, parents, bus driver and school staff.

Number of students on specialized bussing expected is from 2-10.

Bus attendants are not responsible for the operation of the school bus.

Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
Available Monday to Friday AM and PM shifts (2 shifts, up to 4 hours/day)
Clean criminal record check with a vulnerable check
First Aid and CPR an asset
Proficient in English, both written and verbal
Supportive work-life balance, family-friendly work environment
Part-time work
Enjoy evenings, weekends, long weekends, and summers off
No experience is required.
