Softball Instructor/Coach 1.0 FTE
St. Joseph High School Ball Academy
Roles :
St. Joseph High School is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and passionate individual to join our Ball Academy team. This full-time position is ideal for someone with a strong background in softball (pitching background essential), strength and conditioning, and sport psychology. The successful candidate will work directly with student-athletes, fostering their athletic and personal growth while contributing to a high-performance training environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality instruction and training within the Ball Academy program, with a primary focus on softball.
Lead strength and conditioning sessions tailored to the needs of high school athletes.
Integrate sport psychology principles into daily programming to support mental performance and resilience.
College placement: Assist players in building a realistic list of schools based on athletic, academic and personal fit
Network Leverage: Use personal and professional connections with college coaches to help get players seen or recommended
Showcase Planning: Choose and plan in collaboration with Academy director appropriate college showcase tours
Game organization: In collaboration with academy director, organize fall ball schedule with local University teams
Monitor and assess student progress in both athletic and academic areas.
Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy
Create and curate engaging content (text,image,video) for our social media platforms
Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Qualifications:
Background in competitive softball (coaching or playing at a high level preferred).
Certification or relevant experience in strength and conditioning.
Education or experience in sport psychology or mental performance coaching.
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Experience working with youth or in a school setting is considered an asset.
Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
