Your primary focus will be to work with and assist the Research Analyst as an integral member of the team providing research coverage of the Diversified Financials sector.

What will you do?

  • Create, maintain and improve detailed company and industry macro financial models.

  • Help create innovative new ways to provide value-added research for investors.

  • Maintain relationships with coverage companies, investors and others internally within Capital Markets.

  • Create, maintain and improve sector specific databases and presentations.

  • Analyze financial statements, company specific information and industry specific data.

  • Assist with writing research notes and sector reports.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Demonstrated passion for equity/financial markets and continuous improvement

  • Strong work ethic with an ability to excel in a dynamic fast-paced environment and learn quickly on the job.

  • Have a curiosity and passion to investigate things beyond the typical.

  • Strong written and communication skills.

  • Strong computer skills (Excel) with ability to quickly learn new platforms.

  • Detail-oriented with solid analytical skills and ability to synthesize data points into trends beyond the mainstream.

  • Energetic, self-motivated and an ability to perform under pressure when required to meet time sensitive deadlines.

  • An Undergraduate degree with a focus on Business and Finance. A CA/CMA, MBA, CFA designation or CFA exam enrollment is preferred.

Nice-to-have:

Previous experience in a Research related role an asset.

The expected base salary range for this particular position is CAD $105,000 - $120,000 depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.

You have the potential to earn more through RBC's robust discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation, provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
