As the Associate Director, Intelligence & Travel Risk, you will support the Corporate Security team through the gathering and analysis of global threat actors and ensuring that RBC Staff remain safe and secure while traveling on business.Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As an Associate Director, Intelligence & Travel Risk, you will be responsible for the management and operations of RBCs Travel Risk Intelligence Program. You will be required to maintain RBCs travel risk ratings and ensure that RBC business travels adhere to the program and are aware of any safety/ security risks associated with their business. You will be responsible for understanding the global threat landscape, and providing your assessment on the potential impact to RBCs global operations. In this role you will demonstrate an excellent understanding of information gathering and analysis through traditional and social media. Your previous experience conducting open source research and knowledge of travel security will give you confidence when advising all levels of the organization. Your output will directly lead to the success of RBCs Corporate Security global team through timely and accurate intelligence briefings.What will you do?Manage RBCs Travel Risk Program- maintain Country Risk Ratings, provide travel briefings to all levels of the organization as required based on riskGather intelligence relevant to the global threat landscapeProvide support to RBC travelers globally when natural disasters, criminal acts, or terrorism occurs that impact their safety & security as they occurProvide reactive research to support the CSM Employee Protection program in managing critical and urgent incidentsProduce ad-hoc, weekly, quarterly briefings for the organizationLead intelligence briefing meetingsSupport projects to improve RBCs security posturesConduct Enhanced Due Diligence on known threatsWhat do you need to succeed?Must-haveExcellent understanding of global threat landscape, knowledge and interest in geo-political issues and security affairsExcellent open source intelligence gathering skillsStrong investigative skills, ability to think critically and question information to determine its factualityA knowledge of the law enforcement community, the Criminal Code of Canada, and related Statutes in order to maintain an effective liaison relationship with Police & other security & Government agencies.Diplomatic skills and proven competency to interact with all levels of Management while displaying a high level of security professionalism and discretion.Ability to recognize actual or potential security breaches and respond to all incidents that may impact personnel or site security and/or safety of Executives or Employees.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work across various lines of businessSolid understanding of risk mitigation strategiesStrong and proven ability to deal with ambiguity in a rapidly changing environmentNice-to-havePost Secondary education from a recognized college or university, preferably in the areas of International Relations, Security / Strategic / Intelligence Studies, Political ScienceCPP Certified Protection Profession designation from ASIS InternationalWhats in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
