What is the opportunity?

Are you interested in the opportunity to work as a Data Analyst at RBC? Are you available for an 8-monthwork term starting fromSeptember? If yes, by applying to this job posting, you will be considered for deliver client risk eligible rule execution for proactive campaigns currently managed by the Portfolio Management and Credit Strategies (PM&CS) team. The role requires expertise in Data Driven Strategy and credit decision management that provide support to the PM&CS strategy team to execute effective and efficient direct marketing campaigns and initiatives.

What will you do?

Analyze, design, deliver, and implement analytic development projects, with the use of RBCs analytics tools

Ensure that project activities are accomplished within approved time frames, scope, and budgets

Apply data warehouse concepts and methodologies to various projects

Utilize the latest technologies available, designing and building data solutions to meet business needs

Seek opportunities to utilize RBC data sources to develop automation of execution and testing actives. Identifies and implements new methods or processes to shorten the execution cycle or to reduce cost

Develops clearly written documentation for risk eligible rule changes that are tailored to different audiences including business groups, IT and senior management

Be an active contributor to not only your individual team, but to the RBC development community

Constantly seek out better ways to do things, new tools, new technologies, new processes

Work on transformational projects delivering new value

Work as part of an agile team responsible for end-to-end delivery of business needs

Promote analytics across the enterprise to enable RBC to become a data-driven organization

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution

Experience or understanding of Programming skills in one or more languages: Python, SQL, Pyspark

Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written)

Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast-paced environment

Ability to data extract, transform, and load processes with a variety of data types

Ability to perform complex data analysis on large volumes of data and present findings to stakeholders

Experience in working on multiple concurrent projects with different delivery schedules and deadlines

High level of ability in MS Excel (development of Visual Basic macros an advantage)

Extremely logical thinker with the proven ability to visualize and think through complex system interdependencies

Nice-to-have

Experience in SAS

Knowledge of RBC credit systems, policies, and processes.

Good understanding of Cards business

Knowledge of design, development, and implementation utilizing current analytics technologies and architecture, as well as data warehouse concepts and methodologies

Relational database concepts and design experience

Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledge

Please note:This posting is for an 8-months Fall 2024 Student placement with a start date of September 2024, and end date of April 2025. In order to be eligible for this 8-months Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2025 ; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2025), you must require the full 8-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
