Job SummaryFinancial Resource Optimization (FRO) is responsible for management of capital resources in support of RBCs key strategic objectives. FROs mandate includes measurement, monitoring and forecasting of risk-weighted assets, leverage, and capital metrics. FRO works jointly with Businesses, Strategy, and Group Risk Management and other groups in Finance to measure and deploy capital in support of RBCs growth and financial objectives, and adherence to regulatory requirements. As a Data Analyst (ML/AI), youll work in the FRO Data, Systems and Business Solutions team supporting the Product / Modeling team with both the existing infrastructure platform and the build-out of the banks next generation solution for Regulatory and Economic Capital Measurement and integration of data across Finance and Risk.Job DescriptionYoull support the Product team by contributing and leadingAnalytics & Metrics. You will help our team make data-driven decisions.Analyze business requirements or problems and work with subject matter experts to select the appropriate statistical and ML/AI models to be used.Collaborate with team members to design and build ML/AI algorithms for proof of concepts (POCs) and as we transition the POCs to Production.Use machine learning and other data mining techniques to get insights from massive datasets.Conduct data analysis to determine which features / data points should be used to train ML models.Development of agile metrics (Sprint velocity, burndown, etc.) to contribute to oversight of Software BAU (business as usual) team oversight, and increase agile maturity.Given a semi-structured set of data related to our operations, help derive metrics/tracking to ultimately improve our operating model, audit requirements and product delivery.Root Cause Problem Solving. You will help improve key business processes.Following the data and metrics extracted above, investigate a business process, interview people, analyze systems, document as appropriate, and figure out why something is not working.Communicate findings concisely and succinctly.Work with FRO team members to devise, weigh and implement solutions.Technical Writing. You will help cultivate re-usability of Product Knowledge.Were migrating software platforms, and all of our operations and processes need to be re-documented and organized.Youll help develop a program to preserve and organize this knowledge, and then execute on the strategy.Youll help write, well get others to write, and well drive user adoption.Special Projects.We have a broad mandate within the team, and are always looking for ways to apply creativity and special skills as it helps us to improve our product and user experience.What do you need to succeed?*Currently enrolled at a Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on STEM or Business.*Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).*Creative and analytical thinker who is self-driven and capable of working in a fast paced environment.*Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment.*Experience analyzing and manipulating large data sets using SQL, Hive or other querying tools.*Programming skills and knowledge of Python, R.*Familiarity with statistical methods.*Familiarity with data cleaning, data mining, and machine learning.
