LONGSHOREMAN

Oshawa Marine Terminal

The longshoreman is responsible for manual work involved in loading and unloading vessels and trucks, as well as storing materials. He or she may be called upon to operate machinery (forklift, wheel loader, ship's crane, etc.) to carry out stowage, handling, and storage operations.

WORK SCHEDULE :

  • The work schedule is flexible and requires on-call availability. The number of hours per week may vary according to our needs. You may also be called upon to work at other marine terminals in our network, on an occasional basis.

WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED:

  • Ability to work on-call with rotating schedules including day, night, evening, and weekend.
  • Interest in manual work outdoors, on the dock and in the holds of ships.
  • Experience as a laborer.
  • Experience on forklift or other machinery is an asset.
