In this role, you will:
Monthly Project Update
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly project performance updates covering cost, schedule, key risks, trends, and variances.
- Gather data from project controls, engineering, construction, scheduling, and finance teams, ensuring all inputs are validated and accurate.
- Produce reporting in accordance with our client’s standards, PTAG methodologies, and I2PD principles.
- Ensure timely submission aligned with project governance timelines.
- Track and maintain accurate logs of client internal POs, commitments, accruals, obligations, and expenditures.
- Monitor PO aging, cost-to-complete, remaining commitments, and highlight discrepancies.
- Escalate issues early to the Project Manager and client procurement/finance for resolution.
- Develop, update, and maintain monthly cost forecasts external to EcoSys using actuals, incurred costs, accruals, and forward-looking FTC data.
- Identify and analyze cost trends, variances, and emerging risks.
- Provide explanations for deviations from the IPD EMP budget.
- Collaborate daily with client project controls and finance teams to maintain alignment.
- Support EV preparation for the Client L1 governance meeting.
- Calculate CPI, SPI, EV curves, productivity factors, and forecast-at-complete metrics.
- Support performance analysis and scenario-based forecasting.
- Report day-to-day to the site Project Manager, with functional support from PTAG’s Project Services & Controls practice.
- Collaborate regularly with planning/scheduling, finance, procurement, construction, and engineering.
- Prepare clear, accurate reports and visualizations for leadership review.
Qualifications / Requirements
To succeed in this role, you bring:
- 3-7 years of experience in cost analysis, forecasting, project controls, or scheduling.
- Experience supporting industrial, energy, power generation, utility, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting, EVM, and variance analysis.
- Strong Excel and SAP skills; experience with EcoSys and/or Ariba is a major asset.
- Familiarity with I2PD, work packaging, or integrated delivery models is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams (controls, procurement, planning, finance, engineering, construction).
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Mattawa, ON.
