PRIDE Seeds is currently seeking a focused and self-motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a full-time permanent Sales Agronomist in Southwest Quebec.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Position works directly with the PRIDE Seeds Sales, Marketing and Sales-Agronomy team to promote and accurately position and sell PRIDE Seeds products and provide agronomic support and training to customers and retail partners.

Position reports to PRIDE Seeds Manager of Product Development and Agronomy. ORDRE DES AGRONOMES mandatory.

RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Optimize sales and profitability.
  • Focus on relationships with growers and sales representatives.
  • Sell PRIDE Seeds’ products.
  • Work in alignment with the District Sales Manager to promote and sell PRIDE Seeds products.
  • Utilize digital tools and resources to drive sales.
  • Promote the brand image and marketing programs through the Dealer sales force.
  • Work with industry influencers and media to keep them informed on PRIDE Seeds and our key technology and product offerings, and to position yourself as a key contact for information on agronomy topics during the growing season.
  • Manage extensive strip trial program through the year working with plot cooperators, as outlined by product development.
  • Trial planning, planting, harvest, data collection as well as product observation is required.
  • Utilize AgReliant Genetics data input programs to manage trial locations, planting, data collection and product performance.
  • Assist Dealers in implementing their sales plans.
  • Fully support dealers to establish grower specific strategies and provide solutions.
  • Participate in direct one on one teamwork with dealers, such as drive alongs, to promote sales.
  • Organize and execute product specific, and agronomy training with growers, plot cooperators and retail partner staff. Provide relevant corn silage and grain corn information to training attendees.
  • Fully attend and thoroughly participate in all PRIDE Sales Meetings.
  • Collaborate with District Sales Manager to provide retail partners with price structures and deadlines, incentive program details and return program specifics.
  • Arrange and participate in business planning meetings with PRIDE Seeds staff and retail partners.
  • Understand and communicate product supply, product performance and commercial line-up changes to retail partners.
  • Attend, assist and organize trade shows, trial tours and retail meetings to provide product performance insights and updates.
  • Assist in installing signs at plots and fields to promote brand awareness.
  • Project a positive image of PRIDE Seeds and AgReliant Genetics and act in accordance with the Company's Core Values

Requested skills

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • University Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy with specialization in business and sales.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of sales agronomy experience sales and account management experience working in agriculture, with preference in the seed industry.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of sales management experience.

KNOWLEDE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Exceptional sales skills.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Financial, time, and territory management abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership, people management, and relationship/team building skills.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative, assertiveness, and results orientation.
  • Knowledge of the seed industry preferred.
  • Ability to successfully work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to work required hours and travel as necessary, some overnight travel required.
  • Ability to lift 60 lbs.
  • Large amount and distance of travel by vehicle.
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work outside in varying climates and conditions.
