In accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014 and the standards established by the Ontario Ministry of Education (EDU), the Service Quality Coordinator – Early Years Services provides coaching, mentoring, and professional support to child care centre educators to support the development and implementation of high-quality pedagogical practices.

Working closely with the Leadership and Pedagogy Support Coordinator, the incumbent ensures the implementation of the How Does Learning Happen? framework and promotes the continuous improvement of pedagogical practices.

Requested skills

  • Possess a two-year college diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child Development and Family Studies, or an equivalent field;
  • Be a member in good standing of the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario (CECE) or possess extensive knowledge of Ontario’s early years pedagogy framework, How Does Learning Happen?;
  • Have a minimum of five years of experience in the field of child care and/or early childhood education;
  • Have a thorough knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and the ability to interpret and apply provincial, federal, and municipal legislation and regulations governing the department’s various programs;
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work effectively and meet deadlines and performance objectives;
  • Have knowledge of the range of government and community programs related to child care services;
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills in both French and English;
  • Be proficient in the use of various technological equipment and software applications utilized within the department;
  • Demonstrate active listening skills;
  • Have strong presentation and facilitation skills;
  • Be able to perform more complex writing, calculations, and analyses, particularly in the preparation of reports and summaries;
  • Have extensive knowledge of child development.
