The Superintendent is responsible for supervising paramedic staff in all aspects of their daily duties. He or she manages and administers the ongoing operations of a designated emergency care sector in a rotating shift context, emphasizing timely and competent service to the general public. The duties of this position are to ensure the effective assessment, treatment and transport of patients to health care facilities or other types of facilities. As a paramedic, the Superintendent is required to provide care to the injured as a member of a regular paramedic team, in accordance with the provisions of the Ambulance Act and its regulations.

Regular full-time position (non-unionized)
Workplaces: Prescott and Russell
Schedule: 42 hours/week
Hourly rate: $110,226.48 to $128,943.36

Requested skills

  • At least three years of college education and certification to obtain the level of advanced care paramedic (PII);
  • Possess some knowledge of the following laws and regulations: Ambulance Act and Regulations, Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA), Health and Safety Act, Workers' Compensation Act, RRPEO policies and procedures, BLS/ALS Standard, collective agreement;
  • Knowledge of the following software: Microsoft Office Suite, Kronos, Tandem;
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in French and English;
  • Ability to write correspondence to staff and management;
  • Good administrative and management skills to plan, direct and coordinate paramedic staff in emergency situations;
  • Organisational skills to complete weekly objectives in order of priority, without supervision and within the required time frame.
