Term: This position will commence February 2, 2026 and conclude June 29, 2026.
Assignment: Career Development Consultant
The Career Development Consultant works collaboratively with school administration, students, staff, and parents to advise students on educational programming, transitioning to post-secondary education and/or career pathways.
Based out of Moose Jaw. Division wide travel will be required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present resources to support student career development.
- Advise students about course and educational requirements for career pathways.
- Prepare and present resources to build capacity with teachers.
- Prepare and present resources to enhance parent understanding of labour market information and career pathway options for their child.
- Enhance potential partnerships with industry and business within each community and at provincial levels.
- Support Career and Work Exploration program.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Understands the educational pathways available to student in the province.
- Communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community members.
- Demonstrates an ability to develop strong relationship with students, staff, parents, and school stakeholders.
- Understands and demonstrates appropriate boundaries when dealing with students, parents, and staff.
- Work collaboratively with students, staff, parents, and outside agencies.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Possesses strong organizational skills.
- Possess the skills to develop a school division career education plan.
Qualifications:
As outlined in the Education Act, 1995
- An undergraduate degree in Education.
- Must hold or be eligible for a Saskatchewan Professional A teacher certificate
- Experience in career development is a preference.
- Minimum of five years teaching experience is a preference.
- Experience in secondary schools is a preference.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary and benefits are in accordance with the currently negotiated Provincial Collective Bargaining Agreement and Locally Negotiated Teacher Agreement.
