Description
* Full-time post-secondary student, legally entitled to work in Canada and intending to return to their studies in the fall.
* Preference will be given to applicants entering or already in a university program for Midwifery, Nursing, Health Sciences and or Social Work.
* Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License, or equivalent from province of residence, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within Prairie Mountain Health
* Proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint), as well as Internet applications and other information
* Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently
* Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills
* Demonstrated flexibility to facilitate changes in techniques and procedures in a changing environment
* Demonstrated knowledge and competence of skills and concepts related to the position
* Demonstrated communication skills

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Manager, Primary Health Care, the Summer Student works on projects assigned by the Midwifery Services management team within Prairie Mountain Health. The scope of projects may include, but is not limited to, development of resources, reports, data collection and analysis, literature reviews, program specific audits.
Overview:
- Work in coordination with the manager and team to plan and coordinate assigned project(s).
- Project(s) may include program evaluation, policy development and updates, and/or development of patient education materials.
- Data collection, analysis and interpretation of assigned project
- Research activities including literature searches and information gathering.
- Independently organizes and plans project timeline for completing established goals.
- Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Completes other duties as assigned
