Description
* Full-time high school, post-secondary student, or recent graduate, at least 16 years of age, legally entitled to work in Canada.
* Completion of, or current enrollment in, a Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or related program; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
* Province of Manitoba Class 5 Drivers License, and access to a personal vehicle to provide service within the Prairie Mountain Health
* Comfortable learning new software and digital tools as required
* Skilled in designing and developing for audio, video, web and other digital environments. Skilled in video editing systems such as Adobe Final Cut Pro, Filmora, etc. web-based design and content-management programs, social media tools, design apps such as Canva, and Microsoft Office.
* Excellent communication, writing and production skills for various media (print, web, video, social media) are required. Accuracy in grammar, spelling and punctuation is imperative.
* Strong visual communicator and storyteller.
* Experience in marketing and/or public relations environment.
* French Language skills considered an asset.
* Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to work independently

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Communications Assistant supports the vision and work of Prairie Mountain Health by assisting in the development, coordination, and delivery of communications for programs and activities. This role contributes to clear, accurate, and timely messaging across digital, web, print, and internal communication channels.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overview:
- Assist in the development and production of high-quality communication materials across digital, web, print, and multimedia platforms to effectively promote programs, services, and initiatives to both internal and external audiences.
- Provide visual and content support for communication projects across advertising, brochures, print materials, websites, presentations, signage, electronic displays, and campaigns, while upholding established brand standards and guidelines.
- Support website content development by collaborating with programs and departments to gather, organize, and present accurate, timely, and engaging information.
- Capture, edit, and deliver professional photo, video, and audio content to support recruitment and retention efforts, education and training, storytelling, testimonials, event promotion, and broader organizational communications, including website, digital marketing, and social media use.
- Support pre-production activities including creative brainstorming, concept development, scripting, storyboarding, pitching ideas, planning, and scheduling to ensure clear messaging and timely delivery.
- Support production activities such as lighting, filming, photography, audio capture, and on-site direction to ensure high production standards.
- Support post-production processes including video editing, color correction, audio editing, motion graphics/animation, rendering, and formatting content for multiple platforms and channels.
- Participate in on-camera and recorded interviews, working comfortably with a range of subjects and stakeholders.
- Support the organization of a centralized library of photo, video, and digital assets to ensure accessibility and proper use.
- Assists with internal and external communication initiatives as required, adapting content for multiple audiences and channels, and performs other related duties as assigned.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
