In accordance with the CUPE Local 5829 Collective Agreement, this job posting is internal to CUPE employees for 5 days until 4:30 p.m. February 6, 2026.
We are looking for four energetic, self-motivated summer students to work as Grounds and Maintenance assistants within the division. Three students will work out of the Hanna Shop and support the surrounding schools. One student will work from the Consort shop and support Consort, Veteran and Altario schools. Term of employment is May 1st, 2026 to August 25th, 2026.
You will be required to work independently with little supervision. You must be able to transport, load and unload a motorized lawnmower and have the knowledge to identify when minor repairs are required. Duties will include grass cutting, trimming and other related landscaping activities. Painting and minor repair of divisional facilities may be delegated as needed. Other duties will be assigned by the Maintenance Department as necessary. A valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license is required. Preference will be given to applicants pursuing post secondary education.
