We are searching for an organized, enthusiastic individual to complement our team in Altario School. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for student learning and achievement with the flexibility to adapt to a variety of unique learning abilities. You will engage all learners and inspire and motivate students by providing interesting and stimulating course work. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills along with a strong commitment to learning. Use of technology and a variety of teaching strategies to reach all learners will be most beneficial.
This is a temporary part time teaching position (0.5 FTE) beginning on the first day of the 2025-2026 school year and continuing for one year. This is a leave replacement position. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for planning, preparing and delivering instructional content to students in Grades 4, 5 and 6.
Altario is located in east-central Alberta along Highway 899 and serves the communities of Compeer, Kirriemuir, and Altario. The school is the heart of the community bringing families together and fostering a strong sense of small-town support for both students and staff. Altario School is a K-12 school known for its unique agriculture program, which features a student run farm with steers, turkeys, chickens, sheep and more. Altario School has a rich history of high academic achievement, active student engagement, and strong community involvement.
