Key Areas of Responsibility
· Provide supervision of adult students in an alternative educational setting.
· Provide one on one and/or small group instruction to students.
· Assist in the development and implementation of an individualized education pathway plan for PLAR students.
· Administer assessments to students enrolled in the PLAR program. Grade workbook and tests.
· Provide meaningful feedback to students as they work towards their OSSD.
· Work collaboratively with school administration, teaching staff, support staff, Guidance Counselor, and related service providers to help best meet the individualized needs of each student.
· Maintain student records and files in a confidential manner.
· Keep accurate documentation regarding student achievement, needs, strengths etc.
· Communicate with students, teachers, administrators and the Board of Trustees on an as needed basis.
· Submit all reports, forms records and data as requested by the supervising Principal.
Desired Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
· To be a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) or to be eligible for membership.
· To be a good educational leader that can problem solve and build capacity with their staff members.
· Knowledge of Indigenous Culture and experience working in a First Nations community is an asset.
· Excellent pedagogical skills and intermediate/senior teaching qualifications preferred.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work positively with other staff members and students.
